Home Visits
Craig Selinger is the only speech, language, and feeding therapist on the Brooklyn Learning team with an office. The rest of his speech, language, feeding, and learning team travels to your Brooklyn, Manhattan, or Queens school or home. The professionals below travel to your home and some of these professionals, in addition to making home visits, have offices (see the office directory). Other Brooklyn Learning professionals do not make house calls and prefer to work in their offices.
Child Psychologist
Carolyn Kessler, PHD

Lindsay Whitman (Neuropsychologist)
- HOURS: Flexible.
- LOCATION: Dr. Whitman works with you to determine if an office or home based evaluation is best for your child. If office-based work is preferred, the evaluation will be completed in Dr. Whitman’s office at One Grand Central Place, 305 Madison Avenue in Manhattan. If a home-based evaluation is appropriate, Dr. Whitman will evaluate your child in your Brooklyn or Manhattan home.
- TYPE OF SERVICES: Neuropsychological and psychoeducational evaluations for children and adolescents. Dr. Whitman also conducts neuropsychological evaluations with adult populations presenting with cognitive concerns related to possible ADHD, intellectual disability, traumatic brain injury, memory disorder, or dementia. She is also certified coach for Cogmed, a computer-based attention and working memory training program.
- EXPERTISE: Dr. Whitman is specifically trained in the evaluation of children and adults with learning disabilities, developmental delay, intellectual disability, ADHD, and autism spectrum disorders. She also has expertise in the cognitive evaluation of children with epilepsy/seizures, traumatic brain injury, and potential prenatal toxic exposure (alcohol, lead).

Educational Therapist
Laurie Yankowitz, Ed.D.
- HOURS: Flexible, evenings and weekends.
- LOCATION: Your NYC home.
- TYPE OF SERVICES: Assessment of learning and behavioral challenges; development of instructional and behavior plans; reinforcement of academic goals; skill development to support increased independence at home and in the community, including cooking, travel training, shopping, household chores, instructional and recreational apps for ipod and ipad; self-regulation strategies to address anxiety; individual and small group work with individuals and families to continue interventions without therapy.
- EXPERTISE: Highly knowledgeable about Fragile X Syndrome, autism, and intellectual disability; services for adults with developmental disability; familiarity with ABA, SCERTS, TEACCH, video modeling, social stories, positive behavior support, and visual schedules.
